Casualty Accident & Emergency Unit

The Tenwek Hospital Casualty A&E Unit is operational 24 hours a day-7 days a week. The unit is staffed by a well- trained team of Board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians, Emergency Critical Care Clinical Officers and Nurses who are supported by our state-of-the-art Surgical, Laboratory and Radiology departments. We have a 10-bed unit with dedicated trauma bay. All patients are triaged on arrival and seen in order of medical acuity.
Our team of clinicians are specially trained and competent in managing a variety critical injuries and illnesses in patients of all age groups. The team has the right knowledge and skills to assess patients and provide quality life-saving care and medical stabilization.
We also have several well-equipped ambulances which are staffed by our Critical Care Service team. We are trained in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support to ensure that all our patients receive the care they need in a timely manner.
